Jason Wu is the original pioneer who first introduced contact lenses in Taiwan. He established Brighten Optix in 1969 and his efforts brought new heights in Taiwan’s eyecare field. Richard Wu inherited his father’s career and with his unique insight introduced orthokeratology. Orthokeratology redefined the market with its classification as a Class III medical device and reinvigorated contact lens research and development.

Establishes a subsidiary in Malaysia, expanding market operations
Obtains patent for equipment that provided “Bidirectional anode plasma chemical vapor deposition coating apparatus” to improve lens performance
Receives grant from the A+ Industrial Innovative R&D Program by the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs

Launches Briomoist Blue Light Block 1 Day Contact Lenses with “Chromatic Management” technology.
Obtains new patent for rigid gas permeable lens polymer material
Obtains new patent for Polymer material structure for rigid oxygen-permeable contact lenses with a DK value greater than 180

Brighten Optix wins the “Bronze Award” for innovation technology at the Taipei Biotech Awards
Brighten Optix’s plasma coating technology wins the Pharmaceutical Science and Technology Research and Development Award from the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Launches iDealsoft MTOII SiHy Soft Contact Lenses and Briomoist care products.
Introduces the first automatic custom orthokeratology lens manufacturing system in Taiwan.

First to begin use of plasma coating technology in Asia.
Awarded the National Award (SNQ) for best medical device manufacturer in Taiwan.

Opens the first orthokeratology lens manufacturing plant and begins productions and sales in Taiwan.
The production process introduces computer-controlled mechanics and moves towards self-automation
